To Etsy Or Not To Etsy, That Is The Question

And for me it's a big one. For some reason this is a scary thing. I guess the feeling is like 'what if I give a party and no one comes.'
But I have been doing a lot of looking around and I am going to do it. I have to I think. I am reaching the point where I don't have room for all I create. If I don't sell, I will end up with a houseful of stuff that my kids will have to clear out when I'm gone.
So now the big question is what about tax. Do I charge it, do I claim it,do I have to have a tax number or something. All questions for my accountant. But until tax crunch time is over I don't want to bother her.
How do you all handle that part of it?

Peace

hi Mary, thanks for leaving your comment on my blog. Am's doing better every day now! As far as the tax thing is concerned in the uk you can earn over a certain amount before you have to pay tax. Also, you have to think how much you are likely to actually sell. I'd just do it and worry about the tax thing later!

Just do it Mary, you will make a killin! Worry about the tax later, see how it goes, but, if you are using a tax exempt number for buying supplies then you have to file tax of course. I have faith in you and your art BIG TIME!
